KPWS Privacy Policy
KPWS customer policies and license terms.
Effective date: 2026-10-03
Who we are
KPWS is operated by Lance Williams. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, purchase or access our digital resources, or contact us.
Initial sales during our 2026 launch are limited to U.S. customers. Our service providers may process information outside your state or the United States.

Information we collect
We collect information needed to operate KPWS, fulfill orders, provide support, protect access, and meet our legal obligations.
Purchase and payment information. This includes your name, email address, billing information, purchased product, amount, payment status, transaction identifiers, and refund or dispute records. Stripe processes payment details. KPWS does not store your full payment-card number or security code in its order database.
License and access information. We keep records of the products and editions purchased, participant-seat quantities, download permissions, access and recovery requests, and relevant delivery or download activity. For group purchases, we may also collect organization, coordinator, and facilitator information needed to administer the license.
Support correspondence. We receive the information you provide when you email us, including your contact details, order references, questions, and attachments.
Operational and security information. Our systems and providers may process IP addresses, browser or device information, request timestamps, session identifiers, payment-confirmation events, and technical error records. We use relevant information to operate checkout, prevent misuse, protect downloads, and investigate failures.
We do not require workbook answers, private journal entries, participant stories, or a participant roster to fulfill an order. Please do not send passwords, full payment-card details, or private journal content to support.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Process payments and confirm orders.
- Deliver purchased files and administer personal and group licenses.
- Provide receipts, access instructions, recovery messages, email-verification messages, and refund notices.
- Answer questions and resolve delivery or access problems.
- Verify ownership before changing a purchase email or restoring access.
- Prevent fraud, unauthorized downloads, and misuse.
- Maintain necessary accounting, tax, refund, dispute, and licensing records.
- Comply with applicable law and respond to valid legal requests.
We do not use purchase information to enroll you automatically in a newsletter.
Essential records and tracking
Our launch posture is essential records only. KPWS does not use advertising pixels, behavioral marketing tracking, or newsletter enrollment at launch.
We use necessary session and security technologies to operate checkout, verify access, and protect downloads. Disabling these technologies may prevent those functions from working.
Stripe and other service providers may use their own technologies for payment processing, fraud prevention, security, and services you choose to use. Their handling of information is also governed by their applicable privacy notices.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use browser tracking signals to enable advertising tracking. Any future marketing or nonessential tracking would require a separate decision and appropriate notice and consent where required.
Service providers and other disclosures
Our current website, commerce, and support stack includes:
- OpenAI Sites: website hosting, maintenance, and support. OpenAI processes personal information collected through the hosted website on our behalf as needed to provide those services, subject to the applicable OpenAI terms and data-processing agreement. The hosted service may also process technical information generated through use of the site, such as log data, usage data, and device information.
- Stripe: payment processing and related transaction, refund, dispute, and fraud-prevention records.
- Cloudflare Workers and D1: commerce operations, order and entitlement records, protected delivery, access verification, and security controls.
- Resend: transactional messages and associated sending, delivery, and error records.
- Google Workspace: support and contact email. Google Apps Script also supports operational monitoring and alerts. The independent monitor checks aggregate service health rather than customer order details.
We provide information to these services as needed for their functions. Some providers, including payment providers, also retain or use information for their own legal, security, and fraud-prevention responsibilities.
We may disclose necessary information to professional advisers assisting with accounting, tax, or legal matters, or when required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or disputes.
Earlier KPWS purchases may continue to have order and access records in SendOwl, the original delivery provider. This does not make SendOwl the checkout provider for new launch purchases.
How long we retain information
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for order fulfillment, support, licensing, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
Our general retention targets are:
- Financial and tax records: seven years from the later of the applicable tax return's due date or filing date, with longer retention where required.
- Routine support correspondence: two years after the matter is closed.
- Purchase and license entitlement records: the minimum information needed while continuing access or license verification remains necessary, with an annual review of that need.
- Refund, dispute, and licensing evidence: only the necessary decisions and evidence, retained with the related financial or license record.
Open disputes, audits, and legal holds suspend ordinary deletion schedules. Once resolved, we reassess what remains necessary.
We plan to begin monthly reviews of records that may be eligible for deletion or de-identification. This review process has not yet begun. Each proposed deletion or de-identification batch will require manual approval before action is taken. Records needed for valid access rights or license verification will not be deleted simply because the support-email retention period has ended.
These are KPWS policy targets, not guarantees that every copy disappears on the same date. Providers, backups, security systems, legal obligations, recipient mailboxes, and recovery processes may retain copies longer.
When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it, subject to applicable law and provider limitations.
Your requests and choices
Contact support@thekpws.com to ask about your information or request access, correction, or deletion.
We may need to verify your identity and connection to an order before acting. We will explain when we cannot complete a request because information remains necessary for access, licensing, financial records, security, legal obligations, or an unresolved dispute.
Deleting information needed to verify a purchase may affect our ability to restore downloads or confirm a license. We will explain relevant consequences before removing necessary access records.
You may have additional privacy rights under applicable law. Nothing in this policy limits those rights.
Security
We use access restrictions, verification procedures, and protected download controls designed to safeguard personal information and purchased files. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Keep private download links and verification codes confidential. Contact support if you believe an order or access link has been used without authorization.
Changes to this policy
We will post the current policy and its effective date on the website. If our practices materially change, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain consent where required.
