What happens in a lesson?
- Read Scripture. Begin with the passage and the day’s teaching.
- Reflect honestly. Use the questions to examine your choices and responsibilities.
- Speak the declaration. Bring the lesson into prayer and personal commitment.
- Take action. Complete the practical challenge and write down your next step.
- Follow through. Return to your commitment and discuss it with a trusted person you choose.
Lesson overview: vision and responsibility.
The first sample lesson asks you to examine the responsibilities already entrusted to you, consider the direction of your life, and apply God’s wisdom to your choices. Its Scripture references are Proverbs 24:3 and Proverbs 29:18.
Reflect
Consider the responsibilities you carry in your family, work, ministry, and relationships. What direction are you setting? Where would a wiser choice change how you lead?
Put it into practice
The source challenge is to write one sentence describing your vision for your life this year and keep it somewhere visible. Return to that sentence as you make decisions.
