KINGS · PRIESTS · WARRIORS · SHEPHERDS
What does King mean in KPWS?
In the KPWS framework, King means taking responsibility under God through wisdom, integrity, humility, stewardship, and service. It describes responsibility for your own conduct and influence, not entitlement to control other people.
Put this role into practice
- Ask for wisdom before making a decision.
- Take ownership of one neglected responsibility.
- Invite trustworthy counsel and accept correction.
An everyday example
If work routinely displaces time with people who depend on you, identify one change to your schedule and discuss it with them. Leadership becomes a specific commitment rather than an intention.
Scripture and source teaching
Read these passages in context: Proverbs 4:7; James 1:5; Matthew 20:26; Proverbs 27:17. This explanation is adapted from the King teaching in Lance Williams’s KPWS workbook.
