KINGS · PRIESTS · WARRIORS · SHEPHERDS
What does Shepherd mean in KPWS?
In KPWS, Shepherd means caring for people through presence, compassion, encouragement, truth, and consistent example. Jesus as the Good Shepherd is the central model. The role emphasizes service rather than control.
Put this role into practice
- Listen without rushing to fix someone.
- Encourage one overlooked person.
- Speak a needed truth with patience and grace.
An everyday example
Give one person an unhurried conversation. Ask what support would help, follow through on what you offer, and respect their choices and boundaries.
Scripture and source teaching
Read these passages in context: John 10:11; Luke 15:4; Ephesians 4:15; 2 Timothy 2:2. This explanation is adapted from the Shepherd teaching in Lance Williams’s KPWS workbook.
